Directions and Parking

The UMUC office is located in the Panzer Education Center, Building 2915, room 403a and 403b.

To find our location, please take Autobahn A8 in the direction of Karlsruhe-Munich. At the Autobahn-Kreuz Stuttgart-Vaihingen, exit onto German Federal Highway 831, toward Sindelfingen-Boeblingen. Exit right, off Highway 831, at the Boeblingen-Ost exit. At the end of the exit ramp, there is a traffic light. Get into the far left lane and turn left onto "Panzerstrasse." Panzer Kaserne is visible from Panzerstrasse and located on the right side of the road. Once you pass through the main gate and inspection point, follow the road straight until the first intersection and turn left. Continue straight until you come to the PX. There is parking available in front of the PX. Bldg 2915 is located across from the PX and the education center is located on the fourth floor.

Computer Labs

The UMUC sponsored computer lab has 12 computers available for student use. Each computer provides access to the Internet, as well as a word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. The computers are located in the education center in room 423. The computer lab is accessible, Mon-Fri, 0800-1630.

Testing Services

Placement tests for English and math courses and proctored exams for distance education courses are available through your local UMUC office. Please contact the field representative to schedule an appointment.

Additional Site Information

Stuttgart-Boeblingen-Panzer is a joint-command Army base which contains the 1/10th Special Forces Group (AIRBORNE), Marine Forces Europe, Military Police, and Navy Special Warfare (SEALS). The military community is located in four major installations throughout the Stuttgart area: Robinson Barracks, Patch Barracks, Kelly Barracks, and Panzer Kaserne.

A large shopping center is available on Panzer Kaserne with a Power Zone, PX, and numerous vendors. Dining facilities include: Popeyes, Cheese Steak Charly's, a German Bakery, Anthony's Pizza, a bowling alley food kiosk, and a Shoppette. Lodging is available at The Swabian Inn on Patch Barracks or at the Kelly Hotel on Kelly Barracks.

Panzer Kaserne is located near to the German communities of Boeblingen and Sindelfingen, which have numerous hotels, shopping and dining venues, to include Breuningerland, a three-story, American-style shopping center. In addition, two large hospitals are located within the communities of Boeblingen and Sindelfingen. The Stuttgart city center is located about 15 kilometers southwest of Boeblingen and provides numerous cultural and historical sites and activities.
