An introduction to basic vocabulary, simple sentence structures, and verb tenses of idiomatic Albanian. No prior exposure to Albanian is assumed. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills are developed. Focus is on oral communication. Practice in using common speech patterns is provided. Cultural topics are also discussed.
Prerequisite: ALBN 111. The continued basic study of Albanian, emphasizing oral communication and leading to a balanced development of proficiency in the four communication skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Basic structures, vocabulary, pronunciation, and writing are practiced and familiarity with culture, history, and geography intensified. Oral and written texts by native speakers are used as much as possible.
