Making a Payment in MyUMUC

You can easily pay your account balance online anytime by using your Visa, Mastercard, or Discover credit card. These payment options are accessible in the MyUMUC portal under MyFinances > Make a Payment.

Paying by Check or Money Order

If you prefer to make check or money order payments, you can make a payment with your local UMUC field representative, or mail the payment directly to the UMUC Europe Business Office . Please make all checks and money orders payable to University of Maryland University College Europe.

Military or Employer Provided Tuition Assistance

If financing your education with military or civilian TA - known as a third party payment - please provide verification to the UMUC field representative in your local education center. If you are unable to visit an education center, please send the verification documentation to the UMUC Europe Business Office . If TA is pending, please contact your local field representative or the Business Office to explain the circumstances.

Tuition assistance documents are typically written forms issued by a third party that guarantee payment. Military and civilian TA forms should be completed and signed by the appropriate authorizing official.

If you are using military TA, you must provide the field representative at your local education center a copy of the TA form, or mail it directly to UMUC Europe. Army students who have registered through the GoArmyEd portal do not need to submit TA forms, as GoArmyEd automates the third party payment.

Financial Aid and VA

You may also qualify for Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits and other forms of financial assistance. Scholarship awards and other third party documents must include the financier’s name, billing address, and amount awarded.

Fees

Please keep in mind if you have not made payment arrangements within 10 days from the date the charge was incurred, you will receive an automatic invoice.

Application for Admission – ($30)

This is a non-refundable fee for establishing your permanent record - the official university document from which transcripts are issued. Payment should be made through the MyUMUC portal the first time the eApplication is completed.

GoArmyEd students, who complete a Common Application in the GoArmyEd portal, will be sent an e-mail message instructing them to pay the $30 application fee at the nearest UMUC field office before the course begins. This fee is not required if you are a consortium student unless you declare an intent to pursue a certificate or degree through UMUC Europe.

Tuition

Tuition is charged per credit and is payable at the time of registration. For current tuition rates, please see www.ed.umuc.edu/undergrad/services/tuition.html

Returned Check ($30)

When a check is returned to the university and unpaid by a bank, a returned check fee is assessed. If you stop payment on a check for tuition, you are neither disenrolled nor relieved of responsibility for paying tuition and fees.

Examination to Establish Credit – Current Tuition Rate per Credit

This fee is charged for each credit that the student seeks to establish through UMUC’s course-challenge examinations and UMUC Europe’s foreign language examinations. The fee should accompany the application for examination.

Transcript ($5)

The fee for ordering an academic transcript issued by UMUC Europe is $5, except those sent to another Maryland public two- or four-year institution.

Rush Transcript ($20)

For transcripts processed within 24 hours, a special rush handling fee is charged.

Certificate/ Diploma ($50)

To apply for a certificate or diploma, you will be assessed an application fee.

Nonpayment/Debts

Students who incur debts to UMUC during a particular session must clear them to be permitted to register for the next session. Requests for services including transcripts, evaluations, and diplomas will be denied until all debts have been paid. Outstanding debts are collected against any refunds due the student. After 120 days, uncollected debts are forwarded to the State Central Collection Unit (SCCU) in Maryland; the state of Maryland will assess a 17% fee.
